This work at the Golden Tulip Hotel “floats” off the wall, surrounded by a halo of light. In this piece I was searching for an analogy between layers of the history of conflict in Jerusalem, and the layers of memories, emotions, feelings and experiences of the human soul.
The conflicts between various groups in the city continue, and any rock you pick up in Jerusalem will tell the story of battles and struggles. I created this piece as a sphere, nature’s perfect shape – though handmade it is anything but perfect. It has the corona of light around it, but it is torn in the center exposing ongoing pain throughout man’s history in this city.
